Delta MS300 — ocA Overcurrent During Acceleration

Occurs when the drive detects overcurrent during acceleration. Too-short accel time or high current from the motor/cable are typical causes.

Updated: 2026-07-04

Symptoms

  • ocA fault only during acceleration
  • Repeated trip on high-inertia loads
  • No issue at no-load; fault under load

Probable Causes

  • Too-short acceleration time (Pr.01-12)
  • Motor cable short / ground fault
  • Wrong V/F curve or insufficient torque boost

Checkpoints

  • Increase accel time (Pr.01-12) gradually
  • Measure motor cable insulation
  • Check V/F curve and torque boost

Solution

If ocA keeps recurring with a healthy cable/motor, the current-sensing circuit (shunt/hall sensor) should be inspected in the lab.
