Schneider Altivar — OCF Overcurrent

Occurs when the drive output current suddenly exceeds the limit. Short accel, mechanical jam or motor/cable issues trigger it.

Symptoms

  • OCF on acceleration or load impact
  • Immediate trip on mechanical jam
  • Occurs with the motor connected

Probable Causes

  • Too-short acceleration time (ACC)
  • Mechanical jam / sudden load
  • Motor cable short
  • Wrong motor parameters

Checkpoints

  • Increase acceleration time (ACC)
  • Manually check the mechanical system
  • Measure motor cable insulation

Solution

If mechanics and cabling are healthy, the output stage (IGBT) is tested in the lab.
