Siemens SINAMICS G120 — F30001 Overcurrent
A fault raised when the power unit detects overcurrent. A motor cable short, too-fast ramp or wrong motor parameters can trigger it.

Symptoms
- F30001 at start or acceleration
- Immediate with motor connected, none without
- Frequent trips in high-dynamic applications
Probable Causes
- Short / ground fault in motor cable
- Too-short ramp time (p1120)
- Motor identification (p1900) not run / wrong motor data
- Power unit (IGBT) failure
Checkpoints
- Measure motor cable and winding insulation
- Increase ramp time (p1120)
- Verify motor parameters and run p1900 identification
- No-motor test: if it still trips, suspect the power unit
Solution
If F30001 recurs, run motor identification (p1900) first; a wrong motor model is the most commonly overlooked cause.
If the fault persists after cable and parameters are verified, the Power Module goes to lab analysis.
