Before

Faulty — board out of service

After

Repaired — tested under load

Fault

The servo drive raises an overcurrent alarm when enabled; the axis does not move.

Analysis

A no-motor test showed the overcurrent persisting. The output stage and driver circuit were inspected; one IGBT and the gate-driver supply regulator were faulty.

In servo drives, the encoder feedback circuit is also checked; loss of control can cause secondary faults.

Repair Steps

  1. 1
    Output-stage measurement
  2. 2
    Gate-driver + supply repair
  3. 3
    Encoder interface check
  4. 4
    Test under load

Changed Components

  • IGBT/MOSFET output device
  • Gate-driver supply regulator

Test Result

Axis rotated smoothly; current and encoder feedback verified.

This is an illustrative repair flow that shows the process; no real customer/board information is shared.
